Bread is one of my favorite food I want to see every day.
I want to introduce one of my breads, its name is half-moon.
Its one of the delicious and tastiest that I bake.
Half-moon bread shaped into chubby crescent moon and comparable to a real half-moon.
Baked in a steamy oven so the outsides are crusty and the insides soft and airy.
So here are the instructions in baking the half-moon bread.
For the fermentation, In a large mixing bowl, we must stir the yeast into the water in the mixing bowl, then we must add the flour and sugar and mix well. After that, cover with plastic film and then refrigerate overnight or up to 48 hours.
For making the dough, take the ferment out of the refrigerator and let sit on the counter ½ to 1 hour.
Lets mix in the flour, and water, then let the dough out onto a work surface and knead for 10 minutes.
Knead in the salt and continue kneading until the texture turn into smooth and elastic.
You use your stand mixer fitted with the dough hook or your bread machine so it’ll make your work easy.
Divide the dough into 150 gram pieces for a medium size roll or 100 grams for a smaller roll and form them into balls. Let the rest with a clean kitchen towel over them for about 20 minutes.
Using our palm of our hand, let us flatten the dough and using a sharp knife, cut it to half.
Gently pull the pieces apart to form a fat crescent moon. Make another shallow cut to the side lengthwise.
Dust a kitchen cloth with flour and cover them. Let them rest until they double in size about 1 hour.
And after that, preheat the oven.
